What we do

Roll-off services across Stamford

Whatever the project, a container is only useful if it is the right size and it turns up when you were told it would.

Container sizes

Five sizes, and honest advice on which you need

The most requested size is the 20 yard. The size we most often recommend instead is the 15.

Compare every size side by side

How it works

Four steps, no complications

  1. Call and describe the job

Tell us the project, roughly when the house was built, what is coming out and whether it has ever taken water. Ninety seconds and we will size it correctly.

  2. Get one flat rate

Delivery, seven days, collection, disposal and a tonnage allowance in a single number, with the overage rate stated up front.

  3. We deliver and protect

Hardwood cribbing goes under the rollers and rails before the container touches your surface. No charge, and you do not have to ask.

  4. Fill it, we collect

Load level with the rim. Call when you are done, or before the seven days are up if the job runs long.

Why customers stay

Two things we do differently

We will talk you into a smaller container when the material is heavy. A great deal of the housing across Stamford and the neighbouring towns was built when plaster over lath and heavy dimensional framing were standard. That debris reaches a container's weight limit long before it fills the space. Recommending the smaller box costs us a little on the invoice and saves you an overage charge — which matters more here than in most places, because Connecticut is an expensive state to dispose of anything in.

No roll-off truck can use the Merritt Parkway. Commercial vehicles are banned from Route 15 along its entire length, so every delivery runs on I-95 and the surface roads. It sounds like trivia until it explains why an inland job in New Canaan or Wilton takes longer than the map suggests — and why a company quoting you off map miles has not thought about how its own truck gets there.

What customers say

Feedback from around lower Fairfield County

Comments passed to our office by customers across Stamford and the neighbouring towns.

★★★★★

Our street off Hope Street is narrow enough that two of the companies I rang would not even quote. Rick came out, looked at it, and put a 15 yard exactly where he said he would. Knowing the roads here turns out to be most of the job.

Alessandra P.Springdale, Stamford
★★★★★

They warned me the driveway would need planking because of the ledge and the slope, and they were right. Not a mark on the asphalt. The quote I was given in March was the number on the invoice in April.

★★★★★

Cleared my father's place in Glenbrook over five weeks. They set it up on a daily rate from the start and never once rang to chase the container. That mattered more than the price.

Questions & Answers

Dumpster rental in Stamford: common questions

How much does it cost to rent a dumpster in Stamford, CT?

Every quote is one flat rate covering delivery, a seven-day rental, collection and a tonnage allowance matched to the container. The number depends on the size and what is going in it, so call with the details and you will get a real figure along with the per-ton overage rate in the same conversation.

What size dumpster do I need?

It depends far more on the material than the volume. Dense debris such as plaster, tile, stone and slate reaches a weight limit before it fills the container, so a smaller box filled properly is usually cheaper. Bulky light material such as furniture, framing and packaging suits the larger sizes. Tell us the project, roughly when the house was built and whether it has taken water.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Stamford?

Not on your own driveway or private property. If the container has to sit on a city street, sidewalk or any part of the public right-of-way, that needs approval through the City of Stamford at the Government Center, 888 Washington Boulevard. Each surrounding town runs its own process.

How long can I keep the dumpster?

Seven days comes with the flat rate. Beyond that it is a daily rate agreed at the start rather than discovered at the end. Estate clearances and phased flood or elevation projects routinely run three to five weeks and we set those up on a daily rate from day one.

Will the container damage my driveway?

Not if it is placed properly. Hardwood cribbing goes under the rear rollers and front rails before the container touches your surface, on every delivery and at no charge. The two cases we will push back on are sealcoat applied within about the last month, and any placement over a septic field or leach line.

How much space does the truck need?

Roughly 60 feet of straight approach and 11 feet of width for a 20 yard, more for a 30 and less for a 10 or 15. About 23 feet of vertical clearance is needed when the container is raised, which is why low branches stop more deliveries around here than narrow driveways do.

What can't go in the container?

Liquid paint, solvents, oils, fuel, batteries, propane cylinders, tyres, refrigerants and anything hazardous. Asbestos requires licensed abatement and cannot go in under any circumstances. Heating oil tanks are specialist removal work rather than container material, and there are a lot of them in this county.

Which towns do you serve?

Stamford including North Stamford, Springdale, Glenbrook, Shippan and downtown, plus Greenwich, Cos Cob, Old Greenwich, Riverside, Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk, Westport, Wilton, Weston and Fairfield. Inland runs take longer than the map suggests because no commercial vehicle may use the Merritt Parkway.
